Denise Pinton

Monitoring And Evaluation Assistant

Italy

My name is Denise Pinton, I am 26 years old, I am Italian and I am passionate about Human Rights.
As soon as I turned 18, I became an Italian Red Cross volunteer starting to wear a uniform which
has historically represented the values of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence,
Voluntary service, Unity and Universality.

Human Rights have also been the core of my academic studies. I graduated in Political Sciences,
International Relations and Human Rights (2019) and in International Relations and Diplomacy
(2022) at the University of Padua, Italy. Between 2019 and 2020 I took part, as Team Member
Intern, in the Project for the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing
and combating violence against women and domestic violence coordinated by the Department of
Political Sciences, Law and International Studies (SPGI) of the University of Padua. In 2021 I also
participated in the simulation of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization Global
health, COVID-19 pandemic and access to medicines directed by the SPGI Department in
association with Oxfam Italia. Currently I am a Legal Affairs Assistant at the Civil Registry Office,
Municipality of Padua.

Being part of the HRCN represents an opportunity to further develop my dedication for Human
Rights. The Standardized Monitoring System (SMS) is really an innovative monitoring tool to
promote Human Rights through one of the most democratic form of governance: the bottom-up
approach.
