56th session of the Human Rights Council side event: “Capacity building for local governments to realize human rights for all”

Ensuring local governments can protect and promote the human rights of all

 

On Thursday 4 July from 13:00 to 14:00 CEST, the Human Rights Council will host the side event “Capacity building for local governments to realize human rights for all” as part of its 56th session.

The aim is to examine the recommendations made by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in his report of the expert meeting on enhancing capacity-building for local governments to foster human rights consistently. This important event, organized by the Permanent Missions of the Republic of Korea, Chile, Egypt, Romania, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, promises much-needed and fruitful discussions.
