DeCiDE: The Monitoring Journey, is a five-part series of guiding webinars designed to accompany cities through the full cycle of the Human Rights Standardized Monitoring System (SMS) — from concept to practice. The series is part of the  “Boost Democratic Participation in Cities to Recharge Democracy in Europe” – DeCiDE project. This journey is designed to guide cities through a step by step process of development, validation, and testing of their monitoring tools, ensuring cross-cutting coherence and comparability. 

The series will support cities in co-developing and implementing  a participatory monitoring framework grounded in human rights principles, data, and inclusive governance. Through interactive exchanges and shared learning, it aims to build collective capacity to translate rights into measurable progress at the local level.

This second webinar will guide cities and all civil society organisation to emplement and understand better the impact of the Standardised Monitoring System ( SMS).  The discussion will highlight how the indicators having adapted and created through a cooperative process between the city representatives, monitoring specialists. The role played by civil society organisations is key to the implementation of the SMS at a local level.
