“Enhancing Human Rights in Cities with the Right to Vote: the 2024 European Parliament Elections”
The Human Rights Cities Network (HRCN) &
the Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM)
will hold a WEBINAR as part of the
Barcelona’s programme, 1st European Capital of Democracy (ECoD)
This online event will raise awareness on how local authorities can guarantee the right to vote to their citizens and enhance a democratic participation in the 2024 European Parliament Elections. Municipalities play a key role in ensuring transparency, equality, accountability, and integrity of the electoral processes.
The renown panelists will debate on the challenges and the opportunities for the voters to exercise their human rights at the local level. The session will underline how cities’ human rights practices are essential to advance democratic and inclusive participation in regional and local elections.
