Improving Inclusion and Service Access through Measurable Impact
The Municipality of Padova is implementing a range of projects aimed at supporting vulnerable populations, including housing initiatives, day and night care centers, and targeted programmes for Roma, Sinti, and Traveller communities. These projects focus on improving access to basic services, fostering inclusion, and strengthening participation in community life.
The initiative contributes to social inclusion and equal access to services, addressing the needs of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. By combining immediate support (such as housing and care services) with longer-term integration efforts, the municipality seeks to improve both well-being and participation.
Through participation in DeCiDE, Padova is strengthening its capacity to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of its interventions. The SMS has enabled the municipality to define indicators, structure data collection, and assess the real impact of its projects, marking a shift toward more systematic evaluation practices.
Although still in the early stages of implementation, the process has already led to the development of new tools, such as user feedback questionnaires, and improved internal coordination. The data collected will support more informed decision-making by municipal authorities, helping to direct policies and resources more effectively.
Padova’s experience highlights the importance of integrating monitoring into project design. By focusing on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement, the municipality is building a more effective and accountable approach to supporting vulnerable populations and advancing human rights locally.
